Google, we have a problem. How do your customers leave a Google review
without an email account?
Problem 1… More people see your Google Reviews than the other reviews your business has received.
Problem 2… Google will not let someone leave a review without having a Google account or at the very least an email account.
Solution? See below
There are a lot of different review sites out there — some dedicated to specific industries. But the problem right now is that if you want your review to be seen by the most people, you need to be using Google reviews. That’s because when you search for a product or service (over 80% of people use Google search), the first thing you normally see is what’s called the Google “Map Pak.”
As you can see, the Map Pack includes Google Reviews prominently displayed. For some industries, like for doctors, or home services, Google will display some review results, but you must look hard to find them. The big problem with Google reviews is that Google will not let someone leave a review without having a Google account. Here’s what Google says about leaving a review without a Google Account, or at least an email account.
Luckily, there are some platforms that will let people leave google reviews without actually having a Gmail account! Well, TBH I only know of one. The one I will mention here happens to be part of the Piinch/FTB Digital Marketplace. I’m sure there are others, but this one if free for posting to your Google My Business and Facebook profiles.
As I say, I’m sure there are other services out there that will allow customers to leave a review without have an email account, but I haven’t run across them yet. The bottom line is, whether you like it or not, as a business owner, you need to focus on your Google reviews because those are the reviews that will be displayed with most search results. If you take nothing else from this article, know that good reviews, prominently displayed are important to the success of your business. Survey after survey tells us this along with our own personal buying habits.
The nitty gritty… To get more reviews you need to:
1. Ask every customer for a review.
2. Make leaving a review easy.
3. Focus on Google Reviews.
